The Vitamin D Hormone

ss

We all hear the word "Vitamin" when talking about Vitamin D, but truth is this is an amazing hormone that every single cell of your body needs in order to function properly. We used to get this from the sun. Spending at least 15 minutes in the sun gives you an equivalate of about 1,000 to 10,000 units depending on skin type. This is wonderful for your system and is FREE..........You don't need to spend $30 a month on a bottle of supplements when you get this free daily.

But we are stuck inside all day for work, school, and other activities. We are held captive by the tv and our computer screens when we have free time. This has caused a major Vitamin D crisis in America. So many people are needing to take supplements simply because they are not going outside as nature intended. According to the University of Michigan research, Approximately 42% of U.S. adults are clinically deficient in vitamin D (levels below 20 ng/mL), while up to two-thirds have insufficient levels (<30 ng/mL). Deficiency rates are significantly higher among certain demographics, affecting over 80% of Black Americans and more than 60% of Hispanic Americans.

Taking a Supplement:

Before you start taking any supplement, I really suggest that you get tested for it first. If you are taking something that you don't need, one your are wasting your money, and two you can do more harm than good in some cases. Based on your results, your doctor will suggest the proper dosage. When taking a supplement, be aware that it is slight different from the real thing. Vit D supplements should also be combined with Vit K or it doesn't not work as well. Beside wasting money, Vit D supplements do not work the same as natural from the sunlight. The excess amount tends to sit in fat cells. The more fat cells you have, the more you have sitting there.

Skip the Supplement and Take it Naturally:

You can get Vitamin D from the sun. This is the best way to save your money and get maximum benefits. Getting sunlight effects every single cell in your body that is in every single body system. This hormone plays key functions that not only support bone health, but metabolism, immune function, cognitive function and so much more. So how is natural different? Sunlight actually goes through the skin into the blood and converts your cholesterol into Vit D. I tend to see patterns between my clients with high cholesterol and the lack of outside time. If you are not in sunlight and take a supplement, this process is not the same, which leads to a back up of cholesterol in the blood.

I would start making yourself go out in the sun at least a minimum of 15-30 minutes per day. Of course, more is better in the long term. But small changes like this can cause a big impact like more energy, better sleep, and less brain fog. All from just sitting in the sun each day.
